In line with its internationalization vision, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) is determinedly continuing its efforts to strengthen academic collaborations. Within this scope, a delegation from Alfraganus University, one of Uzbekistan's long-established higher education institutions, visited Ondokuz Mayıs University.
On the third day of their visit, the delegation was welcomed at the International Relations Office, where a comprehensive presentation was delivered on OMU’s internationalization strategy, global partnerships, and mobility programs.
During the meeting, Head of the International Relations Office Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aycan, Vice Heads Asst. Prof. Dr. Esen Genç and Asst. Prof. Dr. Deren Başak Akman Yeşilel, Orhun Program Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlkay Erken, and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tütüncü were present.
The session highlighted OMU’s expanding cooperation with Central Asian universities and its commitment to fostering sustainable academic exchange. Both institutions expressed mutual interest in developing joint projects, student and staff mobility opportunities, and collaborative research initiatives.
The visit concluded with discussions on concrete steps to formalize cooperation between Alfraganus University and OMU, reinforcing the shared goal of advancing international academic engagement.
